Well, my fellow football fanatics, it is Week 14 and that means there are only 4 weeks left in the regular season before playoffs. These next 4 weeks will be crucial in determining who makes it to the postseason and who will be heading to the offseason for some R&R.
Every win and every loss has the potential to make the postseason very interesting. Despite New England and Carolina being eliminated this week, their remaining games can still render interesting postseason matchups or eliminations.
Current Playoff Picture
But as it stands, while we await the final outcomes of the Monday night matchups, here are the teams that would be in the playoffs and in their standing order.
NFC
- San Francisco 49ers
- Dallas Cowboys
- Detroit Lions
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Minnesota Vikings
- Green Bay Packers
AFC
- Baltimore Ravens
- Miami Dolphins
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- Cleveland Browns
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- Indianapolis Colts
Draft Picks for the Postseason
Now typically all the other teams not on these lists are heading into the off season readying for trades, contracts and draft picks. So in the interest of fun and a little trash talk, as we do in football, I thought I’d make a list of all the “draft picks” for the unfortunate non playoff bound teams.
NFC
- Los Angeles Rams– draft and build a new stadium. SoFi belongs to San Francisco as Levi South.
- Seattle Seahawks– draft an o-line so your poor QB’s have at least some time to throw or scramble.
- Atlanta Falcons– draft an offensive coordinator so you can actually get consistent yardage for that 1st round RB and 3rd round QB you drafted last year.
- New Orleans Saints- draft an unlimited supply of Sephora to support Derek Carr’s guyliner habit.
- Chicago Bears– draft Jim Harbaugh so it can finally be settled if coaching is the real problem with Justin Fields.
- New York Giants– draft everything and everyone so we can actually see Saquon Barkley on a winning team.
- Washington Commanders– Draft a coach. River Ron has run his course.
- Arizona Cardinals– is Larry Fitzgerald still available?
- Carolina Panthers– thanks for CMC!
AFC
- Houston Texans– does JJ Watt want to come out of retirement?
- Denver Broncos– Seriously how do you have Russell Wilson and Sean Payton and you still can’t officially qualify for playoffs at this point?
- Cincinnati Bengals– What did I say about taking the REAL “Joe Cool”s name in vain? This is what happens.
- Buffalo Bills– seriously draft a whole new defense so Josh Allen doesn’t do weird scramble drills and feel forced to throw INT’s in the red zone.
- Los Angeles Chargers-Draft a new coach. Drop Staley ASAP. Clearly someone who yells at the media to stop questioning him on why you’re losing so many games despite a “game plan”…not good for Herbert.
- Las Vegas Raiders– you paid all that money for Jimmy G, only to bench him? Should have drafted an O line to protect him, I guarantee he should still be your starter. You can’t teach experience.
- New York Jets– Seriously draft and play ANYONE else but Zach Wilson.
- Tennessee Titans– You need a new QB. D-Hop did absolutely nothing for me in fantasy this season.
- New England Patriots– I’m sure Tom Brady is itching to come out of retirement.
Manning Mondays!
As always I have to leave you with a little shout out to the Niners. San Francisco is officially the number 1 seed in the NFC! Thanks to the Philadelphia loss to Dallas on Sunday Night, if San Francisco can continue to win, the hope is to clinch the Bye and home field advantage for playoffs.
Anything can happen in 4 weeks, so it is not over yet football fans!
Catch the last of Week 14 tonight on ABC and ESPN with the Packers vs. the Giants. Followed by the Titans vs. the Dolphins. You can also catch the Peyton & Eli broadcast on ESPN+.

Only 1 thing to add to your draft picks for next season…AFC #5…don’t just cut Staley-that GM needs to go too. He’s keeping Staley around. I don’t ever wish for people to lose their jobs, especially in this shaky economy, but come on a clearly there are more qualified candidates.
Niners had to drop their GM who was an idiot for making trouble for Jim Harbaugh. Even though I love Lynch and Shanahan, I still haven’t gotten over that debacle with Balke.
Haha well, thanks to the Raiders after Week 15. Chargers problems are solved!
